PREGNANCY MASSAGE
A CALMING, SUPPORTIVE SPACE FOR YOUR CHANGING BODY.

Pregnancy is a transformational journey—physically, emotionally, and energetically. At SK Massage, your session is designed to honour this transition with gentle, intentional touch that supports the body while soothing the mind and nervous system.
Pregnancy Massage is a nurturing treatment tailored to each stage of pregnancy (after the first trimester). Using specialised positioning, supportive cushioning, and slow, therapeutic techniques, this massage helps ease the common tensions that arise as your body grows and shifts.

HOW PREGNANCY MASSAGE SUPPORTS YOU
RELIEVES MUSCULAR TENSION
Especially through the lower back, hips, glutes, shoulders, and neck as your posture changes.
REDUCES SWELLING AND HEAVINESS
Gentle strokes support lymphatic flow, helping reduce puffiness in the legs, feet, and hands.
EASE MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL STRESS
Slow, rhythmic techniques calm the nervous system, supporting deeper relaxation and more restful sleep.
IMPROVES CIRCULATION
Encourages healthy blood flow, providing nourishment to you and your baby
CREATES DEEPER MIND-BODY CONNECTION
A moment to pause, breathe, and reconnect with your changing energy-body as you prepare for birth.
YOUR SESSION
On our extra-wide massage table, with high-density foam for extra comfort, you’ll be supported with side-lying and semi-reclined positions to your comfort, to keep both you and your baby safe. Each session begins with a grounding breath to help you settle, followed by a tailored massage that addresses your specific areas of tension.

How Long Should a Pregnancy Massage Be?
Choosing the right duration helps ensure both you and your baby remain comfortable, supported, and relaxed throughout your session. At SK Massage, all pregnancy massage timings are guided by industry best-practice and adapted to each stage of pregnancy.
Second Trimester (13–27 weeks)
As energy returns and the body adjusts, this is often the most comfortable time for massage.
Recommended durations:
-
45 minutes — ideal for targeted tension (lower back, hips, shoulders).
-
60 minutes — the most balanced and commonly preferred session length.
-
75–90 minutes — available if you feel comfortable with longer treatments and enjoy deeper relaxation.
Third Trimester (28+ weeks)
Your body is working harder, and comfort becomes the priority.
Recommended durations:
-
45 minutes — most comfortable for late-pregnancy body changes.
-
60 minutes — still suitable if side-lying feels supportive and restful.
-
75–90 minutes — offered only when you’re already familiar with massage, feel physically comfortable, and are well-supported with bolsters and position changes.
Why Duration Matters
-
Pregnancy massage avoids long periods lying flat on the back to support healthy circulation.
-
Side-lying positioning is used throughout, with cushions and bolsters for optimal comfort.
-
Longer sessions may require extra repositioning or breaks to ensure you remain relaxed and at ease.
Please note massage therapy may not be suitable for certain health conditions, or during the first trimester of pregnancy. If you are pregnant, experiencing illness, or have a diagnosed medical condition, please consult your general practitioner or healthcare provider for clearance before booking your massage appointment. Your wellbeing is our priority. If you’re uncertain whether massage is right for you at this time, please reach out — together we can find the most supportive approach for your body’s current needs.
